FRIENDS INDEED-—Neighbors of W. J. Duff, farmer 1 mile west of Rock Falls, proved real friends Thursday when they came with 3 binders and a crew of shockers and harvested harvested a 40 acre field of oats between 9 a. m. and 3 p. m. Duff has been ill for the last year and last Monday his son, Warren, who has been operating the farm, underwent an appendectomy. The picture was taken on the C. G. Gorkowski farm where dinner was served at noon by Mrs. D. W. Dunton, Mrs. Charles Calvert, Mrs. Veva Egabroad, Miss Debris Globe-Gazelle Photo Eygabroad, Mrs. Carl Hansen, Mrs. Carstin Bahnsen and Mrs. Gorkowski with Mrs. Lloyd Held and Mrs. Rose Maher helping provide the food. Those helping in the field were George, Roger and Herb Wyborny, Ted and Russell Schwartz, Ernest Claus, Dick and Vaughn Stabler, A. V. Wilkins, Fred Lair, Roland, Clem and Clarice Gorkowski, Otto and Vernell McDonough, M. A. Dodge, Carl Hansen, Bob Marker, Tom Perett, Carsten Carsten and Westly Bahnsen, Darrel Schrank, Galen Borchardt and D. W. Dunton.
