OSCAR G. BOOSE Times Herald News Service AUDUBON — Funeral services were held Monday in 'Our' Saviour's Lutheran here for Oscar G.. Boose, 87, a retired Elk Horn businessman and well known in both Audubon and Shelby Counties. Mr. Boose died Nov. 5 in the Friendship Home here, where he had lived since February, 1975. The Rev. Thorvald Hansen officiated, and burial was in the Lutheran cemetery at Elk Horn. Pallbearers were Melvin Boose, Dallas Christensen', Roger Hansen, Folmer James, Emmert Kallesen, Jr., and Richard Lauritsen. Graveside military honors were by the Audubon American Legion Post. Oscar George Boose was born in Atlantic on June 17, 1889. the son of Nels J. and Marianna Olsen Boose. He was baptized and confirmed at Oak Hill Lutheran Church near Brayton. His childhood was spent in the Exira area. He attended Oakfield Teacher Training School where he also taught for a time. He was active in business in Elk Horn before being called to service in World War I. His marriage to Leona Christine Jorgensen took place Feb. 12, 1919, in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Audubon. After his marriage he worked for the telephone company in Elk Horn and they later moved to Audubon where Mr. Boose was in the automobile business. He was later employed at the court house in Audubon.
