EARL BAKER TELLS OF CUTTING AFFRAY DOCTOR INTERFERES AFTRR PU3ADING TO RE HOME EVER SINCE HTAIJ. RING OOCURRENCR BAKER WAS REMOVED PROM HOSPITAL. Earl "Cotton" Baker was removed from St. Joseph's hospital Sunday morning in the city ambulance to the home of his mother, Mrs. Emma Baker, at the north end of Washington avenue. Baker was stabbed In the back at Washington Garden last Wednesday night and he was rushed to the hospital Immediately afterward. Ever since the surgeons gave ils wounds attention, the young man begged and pleaded to be taken home. Although the physicians be- leved he should remain in the hospital some time yet, they determined Sunday morning that It would be better to let him go home than to iave him In such a discontented state of mind in the hospital. Immediately upon his arrival home his riends began to congregate at the place and the day was a busy one for Baker telling how It happened. The result of the strenuous day, was that the young man's fever rose to an alarming point' Sunday evening. The attending physician warned to keep the young man quiet. Last even- ng when his fever became so high, .he doctor was called again, and upon this visit, drove away the vlsl- ors and Insisted that no one be al- owed to see Baker for a few days. Saker thinks he cannot recover and le insists In telling his friends that ic Is going to die. The doctor aid this morning Baker has a good hance for recovery If he will allow he" proper care to be taken of him or a short time. The physician also aid that Baker's cuts were all In his backhand that 52 stitches were taken n closing the wounds. The cut over he kidney was three inches deep, and he says the muscles of the back re all severed. a
