April 11-12 In Columbia Regional Educational Conference To Stress 'New Needs Of Man' COLUMBIA An eight-state Southern Regional Conference on Education, witn tne tneme Education for the New Needs of Man," will be held here April 11-12. Participants will include Dr. Benjamin Payton, president of 100-year-old Benedict College; Dr. Daniel Jordan of the Uni versity of Massachusetts Col lege of Education, director of i the American National Institute; for Social Advancement and a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of the U.S.; and educators from the Harlem Prep School, University of South Carolina, and others. The conference will review the area of education as it relates to the needs of man in an evolving society, and will make recommendations on steps necessary to improve this aspect of education. All meetings, sponsored by the Baha'i Community and Benedict, will be at Benedict College. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday with the tirst conference activities under way at 9:30. There is no registration fee and the meetings are open. The Columbia conference is one of a series on education being held in the United States under the auspices of the North American uana l uince ior Human Rights (NAHBOR).
