Green-mount Howard F. Shaffer Howard F. Shaffer, 86, of 1009 E.King St.. husband of the late Mrs. Catherine B. Garner Shaffer, died Wednesday at York Hospital. Mr. Shaffer was born in York County, son of the late Franklin and Amanda Stabley Shaffer. He had retired as a cost accountant in 1955 from American Chain and Cable Co. He was a member of Fourth United Methodist Church, in which he had been active for 60 years, 50 of which he served as a Sunday school teacher. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Anna S. Boyer, 1009 E. King St., and Mrs. Alma S. Shofstall, Mission, Kan.; and four grandchildren. His pastors, the Rev. Melvin Geiman Jr. and the Rev. Dr. Earl E. Redding, will officiate at the funeral Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Mrs. Amy B. Rudy The funeral for Mrs. Amy B. Messinger Rudy, 84, of 2490 Wyndhurst Court, widow of Albert T. Rudy Sr., who died Monday morning at Barley Convalescent Home South, will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Workinger Funeral Home, 849 E. Market St. Officiating will be the Rev. Millard L. Kroh, retired visitation pastor of Christ Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Edna E.Russell RED LION - Edna Ellen Russell, 75, formerly of 415 S. Main St., and more recently of Harrisburg, died there Tuesday after a two-year two-year two-year illness. She was born in East Hopewell Township, a daughter of the late Lewis and Mary Jane Waughtel Russell. She had been a member of St. James Lutheran Church and Sunday School. Surviving are two brothers, William Russell, Brogue, and Lewis W. Russell, 415 S. Main St.; and a sister, Sadie A. Hoffman. 535 S. Main. A private funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Burg Funeral Home, 134 W. Broadway. The Rev. Joanne Stenman, a pastor at St. James Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. James Cemetery. Mrs. William H.Tyson Mrs. Virginia M. Tyson, 84, formerly of 25 N. Broad St., widow of William H. Tyson, died Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Memorial Osteopathic Hospital. Mrs. Tyson, a native of York, was a daughter of the late Franklin and Katherine Rhineley Bupp. She had resided at Barley Convalescent Home since October. She attended attended Grace United Methodist Church. The only survivors are nieces and nephews. The Rev. Leon McCleary, pastor of Grace UM Congregation, will officiate at a private funeral service Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery. Mrs. Theodore R. Wallace COLLINSVILLE - Mrs. Ozella M. Barnett Wallace, 72, wife of Theodore R. Wallace, Collinsville, Brogue RD 1, died Wednesday at 2:47 a.m. at Memorial Osteopathic Hospital, York. Mrs. Wallace had been ill three months. A daughter of the late John S. and Blanche Walker Barnett, she was born in Lower Windsor Township. She was a member of Guinston Presbyterian Church, Sunday School and Woman's Association. Surviving also are a daughter, Mrs. Harold Campbell, Campbell, Airville RD 1; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Newton Bair, Airville RD 2, and Mrs. Lloyd Williams, Hyattsville, Md. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Guinston Church, near Brogue. Officiating will be the Rev. John R. Maisch, pastor, and the Rev. W. Wade Miller, a former pastor, now retired.
