AN AUTOPSY PERFORMED. Exact Cause of Captain Beckwith's Death Ascertained Last Night. The body of the late Samuel R. Beckwith was exhumed last nisrht. in order that an autopsy might be performed to determine the nature of the accident which resulted in his death. The request was made bv J. i F. Johnson, assistant treasurer of the Railway Mail association, in which Captain Beckwith carried $3,000 ac cident insurance. Mrs. Beekwith consented to the autopsy. Dr. R. S. Black and Dr. F. C. Herr performed the autopsy last night, finding that two ribs 'had been broken, penetrating the lung tissue. The investigation substantiated the report made by the attending phy sician at the time of Captain Beck with's death, and the accident policy will now be cheerfully r?id. T'he bo dy was remterred in Highland cem- cem- etery at 8 o'clock this morning.
