B. H, Du Cum-mings) Oriental Luncheon and Bridge for Hopewell An unusually pretty luncheon and bridge was given on last Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Edward Phinley Morse, 47 Plaza Street, for the benefit of the Hopewell Society, which was formerly the Society for the Aid of Friendless Women and Children, which used to be housed in the old Bach home on Concord Street, but moved last fall to the mansion of the late John Gibb, at 218 Gates Avenue, Japanese and Chinese lanterns decorated the house for the luncheon and bridge, and the luncheon was as far as possible Oriental. Members of the committee, who were dressed in Mandarin costumes, were Mrs. Edward Morse, Mrs. Herman Stutzer, Mrs. Lewis F. Pilcher and Mrs. William Kennedy Wardner. The waitresses were dressed in orange and black Chinese costumes, and were in charge of Miss Lucille Wardner, who acted as head waitress The others were the Misses Beatrice Morse Cantwell, Eileen Cantwell, Alice Good, Janet MacKay and Lisbeth Higgins. A few of the guests were Mrs. Frederick D. MacKay, Mrs. Benjamin Prince, Mrs. Frank L. Sniff en, Mrs. Thomas Magner, Mrs. Walter M. Meserole, Mrs. Melville Melville H. Beams, Mrs. Otto Goetze and Mrs. Thomas L. Leeming. Stewart, chaperoned by their mothers and grandmothers. Dance for Miss Katherine Magner Poinsettias and Christmas greens artistically decorated the home of Mr. and Mrs. TJjomas Francis Magner at 66 Eighth Avenue on the evening of December 29th, when a dance was given for their daughter, Miss Katherine Katherine Magner.
