STATE READY TO REST CASE MassiUon WPA Worker On Trial On Manslaughter Charge As Result of Attack Prosecution in the first degree manslaughter trial of Sam Yutzy, 47, WPA worker of 200 Penn ave., SK, in common pleas court, Canton, was expected to be completed this afternoon. The case is not expected to be ended until the early part of next week. • .Yiitzy went on trial in Common Pleas Judge Joseph L. Floyd's.court, Thursday afternoon, after the forenoon was spent impaneling a jury. The defendant is accused of causing the death of Thomas Owens, 41, a Wheeling & Lake Erie railroad power dispatcher, here April 21. He is accused of striking Owens, who lived in Oak ave., SE, and knocking him to the pavement: outside a beer tavern in Penn ave., SE. Owens sustained a skull fracture and died a few minutes later. Patrolman Royal E. Smith, who with Patrolman John T. Pettit arrested Yutzy, was on the witness stand'this morning. Pettit and Police Captain Frank Woods testified Thursday afternoon.
