Charles Eyster ROCHELLE— Charles W. (Mugs) Eyster, 67, 217 Winona Drive, Rockford, died Saturday in St. Anthony’s Hospital following following a short illness. He was born Oct. 20, 1905, in Rochelle, the son of Clarence and Martha Tilton Eyster, and was married to Marie Haas Dec. 7, 1963, in Loves Park. He was a member of the Rochelle Rochelle United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Rochelle Municipal Band and was trumpet player in the band 49 years. He was a World War II veteran. veteran. He was a member of the American Legion and a lifelong member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. Survivors include his widow; a step-son, Perry Haas, Rockford; Rockford; two stepdaughters, Mrs. John (Mary Patricia) Gartner, Union City, Calif., and Mrs. Keith (Theresa; Rampenthal, Loves Park. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Unger Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ernest Frances, pastor of the Steward United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lawnridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home.
