RICHARD S. WELCH Lieut. Alice Jean Bates, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H Bates of 215 Brown street, became the bride of Lieut. Richard S. Welch of East Corinth, Vt., in a ceremony performed Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock in the home bride's parents. The Rev. James E. Waery of the First Congregational church read the single ring service before the fireplace living room.
