Jay Zimmerman Jay Zimmerman, 66, of Craigs, Mahanoy City, died suddenly Friday morning at the Good Samaritan Samaritan Hospital, Pottsville. Born in Ringtown, he was the son of the late Russell and Edith (Walters) Zimmerman. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Mahanoy City, the Elk Lodge 695, Mahanoy City, the American Legion Post 289, Ringtown. Before his retirement he was a heavy equipment operator for the Gayle Coal Company, Mid-dlcport. Mid-dlcport. Mid-dlcport. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and he was a member of the 44th Infantry Division Reunion Committee. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former, Lucy Cowley in 1985. Surviving are two sons, Jay H., Pottsville; Russell, Mahanoy City; one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Judith Ann) Teter, Mahanoy City; one brother, Claude, Alamogordo, N.M.; one sister, Helen Herman, Allentown; and three grandchildren. grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m from the Edward Edward W. Stauffer Funeral Home, Ringtown. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Memorial Park, Ringtown. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m.
