Band (Continued from page 1) blue ribbons, were presented to various members of the Gaffney High School 1 Band last week to signify first ' division honors (highest obtainable) for solo and ensemble events entered in the last state competition festival held at Witithrop College. The players and events in which they played were: Bennie Sanders, four medals for cornet solo, cornet cornet trio, cornet quartet and brass sextet; Woodrow Bridges, three medals for cornet trio, cornet quartet and brass ' sextet; Mary Louise Walker, three medals for clarinet solo, clarinet trio and clarinet quartet; Julia Clary, two medals for clarinet trio and clarinet, clarinet, quartet; Eugene Walker, two medals for Sousaphone solo and brass sextet; Joe Sullivan, two medals for clarinet trio and clarinet clarinet quartet: Wayne Ruppe, two medals for cornet trio and cornet quartet; Gaiy Phifer, one medal for oboe solo; Ben Skinner, one medal for trombone solo; Norman Sellars, one medal for brass sextet; sextet; Sue Perry, -one -one medal for clarinet quartet; Bennie Webster, one medal for brass Bextet; Le-Bron Le-Bron Le-Bron Free, One medal for cornet quartet; Michael Sanders, one medal for brass sextet.
