EMMA MYRTLE NEES Emma Myrtle Ferguson born at Cory, Ind., on Oct. 30, 1878, and died at Kalispell Sept. 14 at the age 83. She was the oldest daughter of Warren T. and ·Juliett Ferguson. She grew young womanhood at the (arm home and married on Dee. 26, 1897, Lawrence Gifferd Gifferd Nees also of Cory. In the spring of 1901 the swung couple emigrated to Worth Dakota and became pioneer homesteaders in McClean McClean County south of Minot. In 1918 the pioneer- big spirit again led them to eome to Montana where they took up an additions o m e s t e a d in County. The deciding factor which Jed them to Montana was need for Home missionary workers. They held meetings in school houses and tents with or without the aid of ordained minister. Feeling the need of becoming bettei qualified they both began the study prescribed for minis lers, and in due time were ordained as Elders in th Church of the Nazarene They organized churches a Homestead, Froid, Elmdal and Sidney, were the firs pastors of "the First Church of the Nazarene in Kalispel and served a number of er churches in Montana an Utah. In 1S46 Eev. and Mrs Nees retired because of he fll health. They moved bac: n to Kalispell, locating Green acres where Rev. tlied in 1954. She continue to make her home there til the spring of 1958, whe she became a resident c Immanuel Lutheran Homi Funeral services were hel from the Waggener an Campbell Chapel on Monda with Rev. Harold Mac Ian in charge. Burial w; made in the Conrad Memor ial Cemtery. Mrs. Nees is survived seven daughters and thre son*. They are Mrs. Marsha (Lois) Murphree, Oneont Ala.; Mrs. Roy (Grace) ell and Mrs. Leonard (Cot lea) Marshall, Kalispel Mi*. Delphin (Elva) Lar MM, Minneapolis; Mrs. Ray wond (Laverne) Klein, Da las, Tex.; Mrs. David (Mildred) (Mildred) Sutherland, San Francisco; Francisco; and Mn. Dorothy Dennis, RoEwell, New Mexico; Stanley and Harold, Poplar, Mont.; and Guy, Los Sister* and brothers remain- big *ie Gertrude Ferguson, Mrs. Anna Cottom, Harry, Claude and Warren, all of Indiana. There are also 32 grandchildren and 35 great, grandchildren.
