Wednesday evening, May 25, a number number of friends of John Crum gave him a delightful surprise at his home on East Tenth street. Refreshments were served consisting of strawberries, strawberries, cake and cream. Music was the order of the evening and after a late hour all went to their respective homes wishing Mr. and Mrs. Crum many more such happy evenings. Those present were: Msr. and Mrs. G. Woodruff and children, children, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Basley and baby, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Black, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Williams, Mesdames Buckles, Clute, Scott, Roadifer and children, Henderson and children, Smith and children, Misses Belle Kinnamon, Mary Smith, Messrs. Walter Alls-paugh, Alls-paugh, Alls-paugh, James Smith, Pave Crum, Dr. W. C. Hall and Dr. Miller.
