MORE TOGS F0 THE QUEEN ARTIST TOUCHED UP THE HIGH SCHOOL STAGE CURTAIN. Formal Opening of the New Building Will Be Held This Evening and Public Is Invited. When the eager visitors at ,the new high school building gaze tonight upon the likeness of the Queen of Sheba, ascending the royal stairs to the throne of King Solomon, they will not see as much of the queen's person as was visible to the. naked eye several days ago. Her majesty has consulted a lady's outfitter since coming to Ottawa. Perhaps the artist saw the oueen or maybe somebody told him how she looked but she doesn't look that way now. The artist who painted the big drop curtain for the stage in the high school auditorium was assigned to reproduce Sir E. J. Poynter's "The Queen of Shebu'r. Visit to King Solomon's Temple." The original painting by Lord Poynter hangs in the national art gallery of New South Wales but perhaps the "new south Welsh" are not as particular as the folks in Ottawa are. The Queen. may have appeared in life as she was portrayed but Ottawa has her doubts as to the queen's qualities to pose as a chaperone. Consequently after the drop curtain was first hung in the high school and everybody around the building had taken at; least lone : look and sometimes more it was decided to call the artist back. Now. the queen is more presentable although her waist . is n.ft.;'j;et a choker. Ottawa will have an opportunity to see the newly costumed queen and th; ether attractive features of the new high school building tonight when the formal opening and dedication ' will. b& held. A program1 will be ; held at 8 o'clock. There will be talks by Contractor J. W. Prince, Superintendent A. F. Senter, C. Ml Thomas of the board of education, F. M. Harris representing the community, and Clarence Staley of the senior class. Special music is to be furnished. All visitors will have an opportunity to inspect the building throughout. i
