History of the Keajpy Family, Is the title of an interesting family genealogy, by Franklin Keagy, of Cham - bersburg, issued from the press of the Harrisburg Publishing Company. On the title page the author gives this testimony: testimony: "Let the twenty - three years of toil in concerting the data for the genealogical genealogical record attest the love I bear for the Keagy relationship." Well said, and the six hundred and fifty pages of this volume prove how intense this love - for genealogical research worked wonders. The author has done his work coniscien - tiously, as we can fully testify, for here and there are the records of those concerning concerning whom we learned years and years ago, and he lias proved a faithful chronicler. chronicler. The Keagy "freundscbaft" owe him a debt of gratitude whieh they never can repay. Mr. Keagy certainty is deserving deserving of all praise, and the book is a valuable valuable contribution to Pennsylvania - German family history. This volume shows how far - reaching the connections of any one family may extend, for we find allied to the Pennsylvania Keagys, Hon. Thomas F. Bayard, of Delaware, and many others, North as well as South, who have honored their family and country. Among this representative family were those who in the Civil War served in both the Union and Confederate armies, as well as ministers, physicians, lawyers, artists and college professors, a bright array of men of mark in their sjiecial walks in life. The book is illustrated with a large number of excellent half - toned engravings of persons and places. Unfort unatcly we miss two of the representative representative men Dr. John M. Keagy, who taught a classical academy at Harrisburg, Harrisburg, and Isaac Keagy, a famous printer, on the old "Democratic Union" (not the "Telegraph) nearly fifty years ago. There is one fault we find with the author there should be a. fuller index, especially of surnames. The typographical typographical execution of the volume is excellent, and the Harrisburg Publishing Comany know how to do superb'printing.
