FINE BEN! ON HOME BURNED The beautiful residence of R. D Kirkpatrick, in the eastern part of the city, caught fire Tuesday morning shortly after 8 o'clock, and burned to the ground. The fire originated in the attic, and was started by a defective flue. It was not discovered until too late to extinguish, being in a difficult place to fight. .'. " . " The greater part of the contents were saved, but were badly damaged in removing. The loss is estimated at $7,:000, with insurance of '$&', 000 on the .building and $1,000 on the contents.—Benton Standard. . ;
