William French William C. French, 75, of Central'Ave,, died at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday 'in a local hospital following a short illness. Born in .Mercer County, 14, 1893, he was a son of the late Charles and Sarah Bernette French. He was a lifelong resident Kaleigh;County and a veteran World War I. Survivors Include his wife, Mrs. Theresa Belle French, Beckley; four sons, William Jr. and W. Richard, both of Charles, Washington, D. C. C. Morris, Silver Springs, Md.; Pet six daughters, Mrs. Russell (Ethel) Ellerson, Richmond, Va., Mrs, Raymond (Wanda) Bigmon, Princeton, Miss Glida French and Mrs. James (Mary) Lipscomb, both of Beckley, Mrs. Robert (Audrey) Mayes, Tampa, Fla. and Mrs. (Frances) Hunter, Freemont, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Glida Harper and Miss Zada French, both of Harper and Miss French, Beckley and 16 grandchildren. grandchildren. The body will remain at Helton Mortuary where friends! may call after 5 p.m. Funeral services will be ducted at 1 p.m. Friday in' the Melton Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. C. S. Donnelly officiating. Burial will he in Mount Tabor Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Edgar Pugh, James Pu?h, Henry McGhee, Paul McGhee, Lowell Canaday and Larry Stone.
