OBITUARY. Mr. Andrew Schneider departed departed this life Dec. 8th, 1885, at his late residence near Logan, aged 63 years, 11 months and 22 days. The deceased was born Dec. 16, 1816, in Dolar, Kingdom of Prussia, Germany. When but four days old he was given to the .Lord through the sacrament of holy baptism, and after having received full instruction in the saving truths of Christianity, ho was admitted through lhe rite of confirmation May 22d, 1831, into full membership of the Ev. Lnth. Church. In spring of the year. 1S47, the departed left his native country and immigrated lo tho United States. At first he Bet- tied down in Herkimer county, New York, but after a stay of 4 years, he came to Hocking coun ty, Ohio. The deceased, therefore, therefore, had been a resident of this county for over 34 years. October 24th, 1853,Mr. Schneider Schneider was joined in holy wedlock to Miss Charlotte Doman. This union was a happy one and was blessed with ten children, 6 sons and 4 daughters, of whom the two oldest have preceded their father into eternity. The departed was a loving husband, an affectionate father, a kind neighbor and an humble and faithful christian. For the last six or seven years he had been more or less bodily afflicted. These ailments grew daily worse, until about a year ago they resulted into'dropay. During this time especially, ho put his trust in the Lord, and patiently submitted f 0 His doings. Yea, at last he ardently longed for deliverance and to be with tho Lord forever. This God granted him at the above stated time. He calmly and peaceably fell asleep, as we have good reason reason to hope, iu the Lord. His funeral took place Thurs day morning from the Ev. Luth. St. Matthew's Church, of which he has ever been a faithful mem ber, in days of gloom and storm as well as in days of sunshine and tranquility. The Rev. L. F. Mittler officiated. After religious services his body was laid to rest in the old cemetery to await the mourn of resurrection. His widow, 8 children and two grandchildren mourn their sc-severe sc-severe Iosp.
