JOHN MATUSHONEK John Matushonek, 244 West Green St., West Hazleton, died Thursday at 2:30 p. m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Helen Safko, 30 Augusta Drive, Lincroft, New Jersey, where he had resided since his illness the past six months. He was born in Poland, a son of the late Matthew and Mary Matu shonek, and had resided in the borough the greater part of his life. He was a member of the Transfiguration Church and the United Mine Workers. Preceding him in death were his wife Josephine, October 23, 1969; a daughter, Mrs. Blanche Barnes, December 22, 1969; and three sons: Edmund, Anthony and Charles. Surviving are the following four children: Leo, Hazleton; Mrs. Helen Safko, Lincroft, N.J.; Edward, Edward, Highland; Thomas, Chilli-cothe, Chilli-cothe, Chilli-cothe, Ohio. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a brother Victor in Poland. The funeral will be held Monday at 10 a. m. from the Bonin Funeral Home, Second Street entrance. Requiem Requiem high mass will be celebrated celebrated in Transfiguration Church at 10:30 a. m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m.
