Bill Ufford Willard Ufford "Bill" Willard Clark Ufford, 72, passed away Nov. 11, 1998 at the Uintah Care Center in Vernal. He was born May 9, 1926 in Goodland, Kan., a son of John Curtis and Gertrude Langmaid Ufford. He married Mary Ann Shcehan on Oct. 6, 1980 in Salt Lake City. Bill worked as a mechanic for Bill Slaugh Motor and Perry Motor, and he also worked for the U.S. Park Service. He was a veteran and served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing fishing and spending time with the children. children. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Ufford; brother, Dick (Betty Jean) Ufford; brother-in-law, brother-in-law, brother-in-law, brother-in-law, brother-in-law, Len Gotfredson; all of Vernal; stepchildren, stepchildren, Renda Martin, LaRetta Barton and Ronnie Martin. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 16, 1998 at Thomson's Vernal Mortuary with Donald Ufford, nephew, conducting. conducting. Arn Ufford offered the family prayer with prelude and postlude music played by Amy Allen. Len Gotfredson gave the invocation, invocation, remarks and obituary were offered offered by Don Ufford, nephew, and Lorin Merrell spoke. Lylc Harlow sang "Seven Spanish Angels," and Dick Ufford, Erma Casada and Bcrta Stewart, accompanied accompanied by Amy Allen, sang "Red River Valley." Tim Hadlock gave the benediction and Lorin Hacking dedicated the grave. Pallbearers were Arnold Ufford, Don Ufford, Leland Gotfredson, Ron Ufford, Dan Gibbs, Tim Hadlock and Ronnie Martin. Interment was in the Vernal Memorial Park with full military honors by the American Legion. Lorin and Iris Hacking were in charge of flowers. Funeral services were under the direction of Thomson's Vernal Mortuary.
