The funeral of Albert Ford took place this afternoon, at 3 o'clock, from the residence of his brother-in- law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Hirani Toms. The pioneer passed away Saturday morning, at 11:30 o'clock, at the residence residence of Mr. and Mrs. Toms, 330 South Laicas street. He had been ill for months with heart trouble. Mr. Ford was past 55, having been bom in Menden, 11L, on Nov. 11, 1849. He removed with his parents to this city in July, 1861, and resided here until 1870, when he went to Georgetown, Georgetown, Colo., where he lived until February February 28 of this year, when he returned returned to his old home in Iowa City, where reside his sisters, Mrs. Toms and Mrs. Alice Gearkee. The western life with its rigorous, though successful quest tor fortune in the great mining camp* was severe for him, however, and he broken down in health during his absence. It was evident, when his loving loving kinsfolk looked upon him in midwinter, that he wan doomed, for constitution was shattered. Everything Everything that love could suggest and accomplish was done for him, but ecorts of bis sisters and other relatives relatives were futile. Mr. Ford was a man of generous impulses and upright character, and he had scores of friends in Iowa These will join with sorrowing and other kinsfolk, in mourning for the death of a most estimable gentleman.
