In Maryland Kistler Youth Killed A Kistler youth, 19-year-old old Mark David Minnick, was killed last night in a traffic accident on Route 1, Dorsey, Md., 12 miles south of . Baltimore. The youth, a 1976 graduate of Mount Union High School, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Minnick, 51 Pine Street, Kistler. His father is a dog law enforcement officer. Minnick was dead on arrival at 11:25 p.m. last night at the shock trauma unit, University Hospital, Baltimore. He had been flown to the hospital in the Maryland State Police helicopter No. 5. The accident victim was a standout player on the Mount Unin High School 1976 district championship baseball team. Trooper Wendell C. Highsmith investigated the • fatality and reported that Minnick was northbound when his vehicle became disabled on the traveled portion of the busy highway. The car, without lights, stopped near the Route 176 intersection in Howard County. The driver of a northbound pickup came upon the scene and swerved to the left to avoid hitting the disabled Minnick vehicle. In so doing, the pickup hit Minnick who was along the left side of the vehicle on the highway. Minnick's body was hurled into the southbound traffic lanes where it was struck by two other vehicles. One, a car pulling a U - Haul trailer, carried the body for "a considerable considerable distance," according according to Maryland State Police.
