Norton, a well known engineer on the Chicago & Alton railroad, running out of Kansas City, came as a severe shock to hit many friends in Watarloo. : No intimation had been - received here that he had been ill and when the message came that ha was d?ad it was a sur prise to all. ... 1 - Mr. Norton was at one time a Wa terloo boy, being the foster son of the tate Mr. Jacob Brand and wife, and for many years he called Waterloo his home. A few years ago he waa united in marriage to Mr. Cora Hamilton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon W. j Beidler, of this place;, and since their 1 marriage they have made their home in Kansas City, Mo. Mr. Norton frequently visited in Wa terloo and he waa always a welcome visitor, as be had many friends here and it was always Lis delight to get back to Waterloo.
