Math Field Day Slated on Saturday ^Nearly 900 mathematic students in Southern California, representing 179 high schools, w3ll compete Saturday in llth a n n u a l Field Day at Occidental Col- -'-Tae -s^ant ia designed to "Stimulate interest in mathematics mathematics and to recognize mathematical ability and achieve- m'ent," according to Dr. Charles W. Seekins, chairman of- the college's mathematics department. 'The program is a "mental track meet" in which compete for individual anrl team prizes in a variety events, Dr. Seekius said.
