Honored With Dinner On bOth birthday A surprise birthday dinner was given on June 28th by Mrs. J. P. Goins and sisters, honoring their mother, Mrs. M. H. Cole, better known as Grandmother Cole, who celebrated her 80th birthday, June 29th. Grandmother Cole came to Texas in December 1878 settling in Dallas County near Lancaster, During the last few years she has made her home With her daughter, Mi's. J. P- Goins, south oi' this city. Mrs. Cole was seated at the dining table with her four daughters, Mrs. J. P. Goins, Mrs. Joe Barber, Lancaster; Mrs. R. A. Jones, Hutchins, Mrs. John HoskLns of Dallas and sister Mrs. Lettie Gregg, who wau the oldest guest in attendance, she having celebrated her 85th birthday on January 4th. After being seated at the dining table Grandmother returned thanks but when the cloth was removed instead of being confronted with a table covered with good, eats, she was delightfully surprised to see a lovely birthday cake centered on the table and surrounded by many beautiful and useful gifts. After opening the gifts, the en- tiru party retired to the grove sur- rounding the Coins home where a basket lunch was enjoyed. The birthday cake was baked by a grandaughter, Mrs. Travis Montgomery of Dallas, Those present to enjoy the dinner included; Mrs. Joe Barber and family of Lancaster; Mrs. R. A. Jones and family of Hutching; Mrs. John Hoskins and family of Dallas; Mr. and Mrs- Travis Montgomery; Mrs. Alice Brewer and daughter, Miss Dot, all of Dallas; Mr. und Mrs. W. A. Jones, Lancaster; Mrs. Lettie Gregg, Mr. and Mrs. Will Gregg; Mr. and Mrs. Will Gvegg, Jr., and family Charlie Gregg, Mrs. S. D. Graham and Mrs. Mamie Clark and son Graham, all of Arlington; Mrs. Charles Graham and daughter Marion, of New Mexico; Miss Mattie Lou Adair; Mrs. J. P. Goins and daughter, Mrs. Wayne Howard, Many other guests called during the day to offer congratulations to Mrs- Cole and all on departing wished for her many more happy birthdays-
