Finding time to work TV Tiint Service NEW YORK - Fifteen years ago Lloyd Nolan was winning standing ovations and awards on broadway as paranoid paranoid Commander Queeg in "The Caine Mutiny Court Martial." But if a Broadway producer came up with another another plum like that today, Mr. Nolan wouldn't bite. "If you're in a hit, you're a prisoner," said "Julia's" Dr. Chegley, "and life is just too short and too sweet." And sweet, however hackneyed hackneyed that phrase, aptly describes describes Mr. Nolan's attitude towards life. He is that rarity, rarity, an actor who not only sees but enjoys a world outside his profession. Relaxing in his New York hotel suite, he and Mell Nolan, Nolan, his one and only wife of 36 years, were still digesting a gourmet lunch, which he itemized in mouth - watering detail. He also described a recent trip to England's prehistoric sites of Stonehenge and Avebury, Avebury, conveying the archaeological archaeological lore he had gathered with an enthusiasm so great, it would infect you even if you didn't know Stonehenge from a privy. Playing second fiddle to Julia Julia and the two scene stealing little boys, therefore, doesn't disturb Mr. Nolan in the least. The amount of time Dr. Chegley requires neatly fits into the proportions of the Nolans' life. "Most series take too much time, period." Private Eye" and "Secret Agent 7," the two series in which he starred. "But In Julia I have a very easy time. My contract calls for only 44 days a year, and in fact, I've only worked 41. "And the show Is don« In a very high - class manner," he continued. "They take time, actually worry about quality." 52 minutes of EVERY HOUR Your favorite music 24 hours a day KRFM 95.5 ON YOUR FM DIAL o WILL GET YOU 6:00 P.M.
