Bassett BRIGHAM CITY — John Hancock Bassett, chief petty officer, U.S. Navy, ret., 49, of 350 S. 2nd E., died Sunday at the McKay-Dee Hospital In Ogden following a stroke. He was born Aug. 10, 1927, In California, a son .of Mr. ana Mrs. Glen Bassett. He was married to Ruth Elizabeth Miller In Corvallls. Ore. He was an instructor for the Naval ROTC at Box Elder High School, and had resided In Brlgham City August of 1970. He was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Brignam City. Surviving are his widow of Brlgham City; one son and one daughter, Glen Bassett, Michelle both of Brlgham City; Irene Bassett, three brothers, Richard L. Bassett, Redmond, Ore.; Gordon Bassett and Edward Bassett, both of California. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. In the Commun- 'ry Presbyterian Church In Brignam City. Friends may call at the Olsen Funeral Chapel, 2nd North and Main, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial In the Brlgham City Cemetery.
