Mrs. Emily Oats COOPER — Mrs. Emily Oats of Cooper died Thursday, May 17, at her home. • Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 19, at 2 p.m. at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Grady Adcock of Lubbock and Chief Warden officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Oats was born in Delta County on Nov. 20, 1897, a daughter of Daniel Madison Singleton and Elizabeth Foster Singleton. She moved to Lubbock in 1934 and returned to Delta County in 1979. On Dec. 17, 1916, she married Oma Arden Oats. He died Jan. 5,1981. . Surviving are three sons, W. D. Oats of Honey Grove, Zane Oats of Cooper and Terrell pats of Marble Falls; one daughter, Elizabeth Purdy of Kingsland; one brother, J. Dudley Singleton of DeKalb and 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as bearers.
