Interstate 40 Sign Contract Is AM arded A contract erecting slsns, reflectors reflectors and signals of Inter-' slate 40 from Georgia west to Hancock has been awarded io. an Arlington firm, the State Highway Department announced today in Austin. Low b i d d e r \vas Construction Co. of Arlington, Inc.. at a figure of $97.592.75. The job is expected :o tike 50 working days for completion C. W. (Chili) Smith, district highway engineer of Amarillo, said today. The project includes the installation installation of traffic control si terns at Georgia and Western like the one now operating at Washington. Traffic lights now installed at Georgia and Wcvt era are temporary systems of the City of Amarilio. Concrete work on the Geor gia - Hancock segment of the highway is to be completed week. Smith said today. Additional Additional work on shoulders and finishing touches on bridges will be the final steps in the pro] ect other than installation of signs and signals. James N. Moss, resident engineer engineer here, will be in active charge of the Big State Construction Construction Co. project for the Highway Department.
