Allen County Pioneer Dies Mrs. William Shigley, a resident of Allen county continuously since 1867, died at the age of 91 toda? at the home of her son James Shigley, south of LaHarpe. Mrs. Shigley settled on a farm near what Is now Elsmore 71 years ago, coming here from Illinois, and has been a member of a well known family of the county since that time. Elsmore had not been founded when she first became a resident of the county. Her husband preceded her in death in 1924. Funeral services for Mrs. Shigley will be held Thursday at the Methodist church in LaHarpe at 2:30 p. m. The Rev. Shuler will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the LaHarpe cemetery. Mrs. Shigley was bom in Alabama and later moved to Illinois with her parents, residing there a few years before moving on to settle In Kansas. ^ve children survive Jn addition to James Shigley. They include one son, Wes Humphrey of California, and four daughters, Mirs. Ora Long and Mrs. LaUra Long, Loma, Colo., Mrs. Ollie Stout, Palisade, Colo., and Mrs. Hattie Wedlkend, Chanute. Other survivors Include 12 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
