DOWNIE BROS, CIRCUS AUG. 5 0 1— Under Direction of Veteran Showman Sparks, Carter Avenue Lot Will Be the Locale of First and Only. Show Here. That Monday, August 5th, will be circus day in Indiana became definitely assured today with the arrival of the advance advertising cars of the big Sparks managed Downie Bros. Circus which is scheduled for a matinee and night performance engagement on the Carter avenue lot. Under the personal direction of Charles Sparks, veteran showman, the Downie Bros. Circus has a cast of some of the outstanding names in circusdom as well as featuring the personal appearance of Bill Cody, popular cowboy screen star; ,,-who brings his entire Hollywood company to the circus presenting in tliec$esh exhibitions of just how the nift£e thrilling of movie exploits are filmed. The 1935 cast of the big show iii- cludes such stars as the Hanneford family of bareback riders with George, ihe riding clown: Friscos performing seals; Billy Seigrist, clever tight wire artist; the Carlos Carreon world's 'champion high jumping horses; three groups of High School Horses; Marion Shuford, and her 30 dancing thoroughbreds; performing elephants; trained ponies; Minert De- Orlo, the clown cop and his army of laugh provoking clowns.
