Marlin Bettes - Martin E. Bettes COOPER — Marlin E. (Bull)...
Martin E. Bettes COOPER — Marlin E. (Bull) Bettes, 78, of Cooper died Friday, Dec. 28, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center. ' Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at the Charleston Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Fortenberry and the. Rev. Henry Suche officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery by Del'ta Funeral Home. Mr. Bettes was born in Charleston Charleston Feb. 10, 1912, a son of Sam L. Bettes and Nita Oats Bettes. He was a farmer and rancher. He married Martha Inez Pickens on Oct. 7,1933. She died July 7,1988. Surviving are two daughter, Pasty Ruth West of Diana and Marlia Jean Harris of Paris; one brother, Bobby Bettes of Cooper; four grandsons, Bill, Bob and Bud West and Barry Shiver, and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded preceded in death by three brothers, J.D., James and Edwin (Snooks) Bettes. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the / funeral home. ' /
