1942-01-23 WHITAKER WILLIAM LAST RITES HELD FOR PIONEER IN MOJAVE
b Last Rites Held for Pioneer in Mojave Death came to William Whltaker, 79, of Mojave yesterday in a local hospital. He had been a resident of Kern county for 35 years. A retired railroad conductor formerly employed by the Southern Pacific and Santa Fe railroads, he had lived in Mojave for 19 years. He resided at 323 M street. Funeral services were held today at 3 p. m. at graveside, Mojave cemetery. The Hopson mortuary made final arrangements. Surviving him are a sister, Mrs, W. A. Touchdown, and a niece, Mrs. Leon Etter, both of Mojave.
