* ANCHORS AWAY -Chief Edward Sel- finger, U. S. Navy recruiting officer for Pottstown, had been away from his home town so long that he didn’t know his own nieces. The son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Selfinger, 505 West Race street, Stowe, and a graduate of Pottstown Senior High school (Class of 1937), he has spent 13 years in the Navy and had little opportunity opportunity to stay on local land. When he appeared on a Pottstown high career program program a while ago, he was approached by two comely girls — Veronica and Irene Sabold, 268 Lee avenue. He hadn’t seen these nieces since they were little children, children, and they ribbed him for not recognizing recognizing them. In appropriate retaliation for the ribbing. Chief Selfinger enlisted Veronica’s boy friend, Mike Jacobs, in the Navy . . . * * *
