Mr. Thompson, o£ the Methodist church this city, was married to Miss Libbie UawlfSi who is a mulatto. She is an attractive young- woman, well educated, refined and a. great church worker. Sho was a member of Rev. Mr. Thompson's congregation, and for the last five mouths ho has paying- her marked attention. Ilia consreg-ation remonstrated vigorously ancTfinally a few weeks ago gave an indefinite leave of absence and closed the church.
