The attempted killing took place in the early morning as Scholes was driving on Route 224 between Slaughter and Argos Corner, and Bell came up Beach Carletti alongside his pickup truck and fired two shotgun blasts at The bullets hit the truck, but did not injure Scholes. Carletti and Bell were apprehended shortly after the attempted slaying and Mattero was arrested in U p p e Chichester later the same On April 26 the Delaware Grand Jury indicted the three men for conspiracy to commit murder, assault with intent to commit murder, conspiracy to commit assault and assault. They are scheduled to face during the next term of court which begins in June. Carletti and Bell are being held under $35,000 bail in County Correctional Institute Delaware. Mnttero has been released $35,000 bail from Delaware County Prison, Thornbury pending extradition hearings, which have not, yet been scheduled.
