Renovo Retired Men Demand Magazine Retract Article RENOVO — There is action against a nationally circulated men's magazine which, among other things, said empty railroad box cars on sidings here were used as if they were houses of ill repute. The Pennsylvania Railroad Retired Men's Association has demanded of the publisher, Martin Goodman of the Zenith Publishing Corp., 625 Madison Ave., New York, a "publicized retraction of the scurrilous smut article you published in the April, 1965, issue of 'Men' magazine, also an appropriate apology to the Renovo Borough Council and citizenry, and to the Pennsylvania Railroad officials and em- ployes for the abominable lie you published x x x ." The letter with the demand said that the writer of the article "evidences ingnorance x x x ." It listed several alleged misstatements. Since the article quoted an un named Renovo resident, the let ter, signed by R. 0. Raymond the association secretary, said: "If there should be any former or disgruntled councilman or any other Renovo area citizer who furnished your x x x writer with any such stuff as you have published, you owe it to the Re novo citizenry and the Pennsyl vania Railroad Co. as well as tc yourself to furnish his or her name in your publicized retrac tion and apologies."
