of NIB. Convention Opened of the National Democratic League. AT THE CITY OF INDIANAPOLIS. Seme Important Work Will Be Done. Populist Campaign Work Opened. - Political News. Indianapolis! Ind., Aug. 14. The Notional Democratic Colored League met in Masonic hall of this city at noon today, and will do in session ior several days. E. A. Manning, . presi dent of the Indiana branch, opened the convention with an address of welcome. President C. H. J. Taylor, of the National League, then delivered the annual address. Between thirty and thirty - five states are represented in tne convention, each state being entitled to two dele gates. A committee was appointed to call on Gov. Matthews and Chairman Taggart, of the Democratic committee, committee, and make arrangements for league delegates to attend the state Democratic convention tomorrow. President Tavlor said that at this convention a scale would be perfected by which the organization would be able to furnlsn a list oi every coiorea voter in the United States.
