ocean yacht race around March 15 1887 - Capt Anderson, a Capt Crosby
WAITING FOR THE WORD. THE DAUNTLESS READT FOR THE RACE AND THE CORONET NEARLY SO. All the widespread interest in the ocean yacht race now centres on the day of departure, but that day canuot yet be toid. It will natu rally be between now and the 15th Inst, since otherwise Capt. Bush's certified check for $10,000 will slip into Capt. Colt's al ready bulging pocket, provided he chooses to take It. This contingency Is not supposable, however, as tbe Coronet people are quite as anxious as tbe Dauntless partisans, and equally sure that their trip to Europe will be the shortest in time. Any prophecies to the contrary excite incredulity in all on board, from Capt. Anderson, the assistant nsvlgator, down to tne uiessooy. capt. crooy is a cool, thor ough, and experienced navigator, and does not propose to telephone the Dauntless that, he Is ready until such U the case in every particular.
