W H Harbers Obituary Aiken SC 1899
Dentil of Mr. W. H. Unrbera. Mr. W. 11. Barbers died after a short illness at bin residence in this city on Friday, the 18th, in the sixly- " eighth year of his age. His deuih oame as a surprise to many, as he did not appear to be in bad health, and nearly every day he could be seen nil- tine on his piazza by persons pausing. Mr. Barbers was born in Liverpool, England. In early life he came t<i America and for more than fifty year* has been living in Aiken where he lias raised a family of four children— three daughters and one son. Fur many years, and until recently, Mr. Harbors was engaged in the drue business In Aiken Last winter he sold his store and on the first of April went out of business, moving his drugs down to his residence. Funeral services were held in tbe Baptist church Saturday morning, after which liis remains were laid to rest In the cemetery outside by the fide of his wife, who had preeoeded him to the grave several years. Mr. Harbers was a quiet and unobstrusive man and had no enemies.
