GISOVKRS SKORO FRIEND A Ka - V ed for m Washington Place Washington D c April 5 Another one of Clevelands nominnlons is exciting much adverse comment in his own party and is liable to rejection by the Senate C H J Taylor a colored man was recently nominated nominated by the President for tbe office of Recorder Recorder of Deeds of the District of Columbia As he comes from Kansas and has never been a resident of the District local politicians are np in arms Taylor has been fed at the kings table before He is said to havegained Clevelands good will by writing him a letter when the latter was elected Governor of New York and predicting that Cleveland was a man of destiny and must inevitably become President Taylor served as Minister to Siberia during Clevelands first term and was nominated during the present term for Minister to Bolivia Bolivia The Senate rejected this nomination Now Cleveland Is trying him on the people of the District and they are exerting great influence influence to hare the Senate turn Taylor down
