WILL TAYLOR PAY IT? MR. GEORGE C. SMITH WANTS 2,IQ7.8r. Mr. George C. Smith, who was at one time C. H. J. Taylor's Private Secretary and biographical writer, sent to the Recorder of Deeds, C.H.J. Taylor on Monday a special delivery letter containing an epistle to the effect thai the Recorder was indebted to him for 22 month's work, amounting to 2,197.-81. Mr Smith claims that he never was discharged from the office but merely furloughed and under the law he claims the Recorder exceeded his authority.
