Mrs. ' Rachel Farley Carrigan will be :honored at an open house : Sunday at the home of a son iand daughter-in-law, Mr. and | Mrs. David F. I Mrs. Carrigan was born on ; July 23, 1882, a daughter of Asa Calkin and Rachel Poulter j Farley. . WED IN 1919 On Sept. 10, 1919 she was i married to James W. Carrigan ] in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. ; ; In 1902 she moved to Peterson :with her family. She taught 'school in Littleton for seven 1 years and served as Morgan j C o u n t y superintendent of schools for two years, being ; elected in 1906. An accomplished musician,, she served as supervisor of' music in the Box Elder County: School District in the winter of 1910-11, and was presented in| many recitals in Ogden and Lake City. . STUDIED MUSIC I In 1913 she left for Germany; to study music until World I broke out. : Mrs. Carrigan has one son: and two grandchildren. j She has been an active! member of the LDS Church and served nine years as president 1 of the YWMIA.
