Monday Pritchard, over John- Tacoma Star ^ W. N. Alvortf. . W. N. Alvord, aged 81 years, in. Tacoma in a hopital early Saturday morning, February 8. Death occurred suddenly, following a heart attack. The day before his death received a letter from a brother Colorado that he was in need of funds, and Mr. Alvord dispatched $100 to him at once. Deceased Â·bailiff in Judge Chapman's court, Tacoma. He came to Washington 40 years ago from Kansas. He operated the Croft place near .Chehalis for several years, later going to Everett, where he was in the hotel business. Under Governor Rogers he was appointed a puard at the state school here, and when he left that work went to Tacoma. He is by a daughter, Mrs. Mina H. of Seattle; another daughter, Miss Mary H. Alvord, a practicing attorney in Seattle; and a son, Carl, Everett; a brother in Colorado; two brothers in Kansas. His wife died four years ago, and is buried with a small daughter in the family plot at Greenwood. He was a sf the G. A. R. Burial services aeld at Chehalis Monday, interment being at Greenwood in the family plot.
