Martha Eastman Kitchen was daughter of Judge Asa S Eastman. her husband was Col DeWitt Clinton Kitchen. The Col. was once the Editor of the local newspaper and later a paper in Nicholson, PA. It was Col. Kitchen that put Marcey's Pond on the map as Lake Carey. The Col was very deaf but would meander through the woods and return laden with flowers.
