Carlyle Veals of Nova Scotia has been appointed to the staff as assistant astronomer at the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory, Saanich, it is announced. Mr. Veals took his degree from the University of London, England, and is at present doing postgraduate work with Professor Fowler, the noted spectroscopist, with whom he has been with for the past two years. He will arrive in Victoria in July to take over his duties at Saanich mountain.
