Fayetteville family members die in Mexico FAYETTEVILLE (AP) - Four members of a Fayetteville family were killed in a traffic crash while traveling. in Mexico, officials said. Steve and Sharon Hoover, Steve's son Paul Hoover and " his wife, Maureen, were killed Tuesday on a highway south of Cancun... The Hoovers were active in local government, with family members having held positions on various boards and commissions. A resident of Mexico was cited for the crash, in which the Hoovers' vehicle was rear-ended at high speed, said Judith Bryan, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City. The accident occurred on a highway between Playa del Carmen and Tulum in the Mexican state of Quintana Rob, Bryan said. Much of that highway consists of two lanes with a divided grassy space in the middle. "Its a huge loss to the community," said Sarah Terry of Fayetteville, a family friend.
