Miss Piggy just has star quality LOS ANGELES (API TV idol Miss Piggy was meant to be a supporting actor on the "The Muppet Show," but the porcine performer had star quality. At the weekend opening of "The Art of the Muppets" exhibit. Miss Piggy's rise to fame was documented by JANE HENSON, who joined her husband. JIM. in the first Muppet venture 26 years ago. "She was just supposed to be a minor character," said Henson. "There was an audience response," she continued. "Suddenly we were all cheering. 'Go, fat pig. Do it. Be beautiful."' A star was born. Miss Piggy and other Muppet regulars Kermit, Fonzie, Dr. Teeth, Gonzo. Camilla the Chicken, Bert, Ernie, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch and the Count are on display at the Museum of Science and Industry through Feb. 10. All told, there are no fewer than 120 Muppets.
