H. WILLIAMS CALLED AFTER LONG ILLNESS Frank H. Williams, 45, of 815 South Van Ness street, a free lance writer for trade and business journals, who had resided in Santa Ana since 1923, died today at his home after an illness extending over a period of several months. Williams died at about 8:30 a. m. For several days he had been growing obviously weaker. Since last December he had been in poor health. He is survived by his widow, Marion Helm Williams, who has been active in dramatic work here, and by his mother, Mrs. Fannie Hoffman. Funeral arrangements had not been announced today. The body is at the Smith and Tuthill Funeral home. Williams began his career as a reporter for the News-Sentinel, of Fort Wayne, Ind, Later he became city editor of the same paper. Following his work in Fort Wayne he went to New York, where he worked for three years with the World Film corporation and later with Printers Ink." Following his activity in New York he returned to Fort Wayne. For the last 10 years, that city Santa 1 Ana, he has devoted himself almost entirely to free lance work for business Journals. Throughout his career as a writer he has written stories, verse and jokes, which were printed in magazines throughout the country. Watermelon Thief Is Sought Today Sheriff's officers are looking for watermelons, reported stolen from a watermelon stand on the Newport road, near Costa Mesa. The melons were the property of C. E. Magill, of the Newport road, and were stolen Saturday after a screen door had been pried off the building where they were stored, it was reported.
